Taking raw clay and turning it into something usable or even beautiful, is a truly transformative act. Each piece represents a balance of the natural constraints of the materials, and the talent and will of the artist to transform it into a new form. There are an unlimited number of variables that can affect a piece, some within the control of the maker, and some left to fate. As in life, we endeavor to control what we can, and leave the rest to the wind, each time learning, adapting, and tweaking to become a little more perfect.
